Preguntas coletillas
She is my sister, isn't she?
Es mi hermana ¿no?.
They aren't here, are they?
She is Mary, isn't she?.
Es Mary ¿verdad?
They promised to repay us all the damages, did they not?

She is not Mary, is she?.
She can play the piano, can't she?.
Sabe tocar el piano ¿verdad?
She doesn't work here, does she?
No trabaja aquí ¿verdad?
She was dancing, wasn't she?
Estaba bailando ¿verdad?
We will go tomorrow, won't we?
Iremos mañana ¿verdad?
5 Si la oración no lleva auxiliar se usará el "to do" en el tiempo y persona correspondiente
She works here, doesn't she?
Trabaja aquí, ¿verdad?.
She went to the cinema, didn't she?
Fue al cine ¿no?

Casos particulares
1 En inglés americano se suele usar "aren't I" en lugar de "am I not".
I am late, aren't I?
Llego tarde ¿no?.
2 Imperativos
Después del imperativo se suele usar "will you" tanto para la afirmativa como para la negativa.
Open the window, will you?
Abre la ventana ¿no?
Don't forget, will you?.
No te olvides ¿de acuerdo?.
Sin embargo a veces se usan los modales "would", "can" o "could" para no ser tan categóricos.
Open the window, can't you?
Abre la ventana ¿puedes?
Shut up, couldn't you?.
Callaos ¿podriais?
Sit down, would you?.
Let's go to the cinema, shall we?
Vamos al cine ¿qué te parece?
3 Cuando el verbo "to have" funciona como auxiliar no llevará el "to do" pero cuando funciona como verbo principal ambas formas son posibles en inglés británico. En inglés americano se prefiere el uso de "to do".
She has a car, doesn't she ?
Tiene un coche ¿verdad? (verbo principal indicando posesión inglés americano).
She has got a car, hasn't she?
Tiene un coche ¿verdad? (verbo principal indicando posesión, inglés británico).
She hasn't been here, has she?
There aren't any tomatoes, are there?.
No hay tomates ¿verdad?
There was an accident, wasn't there?
Hubo un accidente ¿no?
5 Cuando la oración principal lleve palabras con sentido negativo como "never", "no", 'nothing', "little", "nobody", "hardly" o "scarcely", la question tag irá en afirmativa.
You'll never smoke, will you?
Nunca fumarás ¿verdad?
It hardly snowed last winter, did it?
Apenas nevó el invierno pasado ¿no?
There is little we can do, is there?
Nobody knows the truth, do they?
Somebody phoned last night, didn't they?
Alguien llamó anoche ¿verdad?
Everyone wanted to go to the beach, didn't they?
Everything is fine, isn't it?.
Todo está bien ¿verdad?.
Nothing can happen, can it?
